WP OAuth Server was started in 2012 and was originally named “WP OAuth Provider”. In 2014, the project was renamed “WP OAuth Server”. WP OAuth Server was built to meet the needs of developers when it comes to complicated user authorization flows. WordPress lacks native support for SSO (Single Sign On), as well as any authentication outside of cookie based.
Over the years WP OAuth Server has evolved and now is used by over 5,000 websites big and small. We continue to update, enhance and make WP OAuth Server better and continue to help developers with their project by simplifying OAuth2 and ensuring they have the best solution.
